Welcome to City Tails!

If you’re holding this magazine, it likely means that you are a pet lover and are currently sharing your life with an animal companion (or two or three). Hopefully, it also means that you believe, as we do, that pets are integral part of the family and that we should cultivate an awareness of the animals whose world we share and instill respect and appreciation for the joy they bring us.

Welcome to the debut issue of City Tails. Publishing pet-focused magazines is a constant source of joy for us. The more we have researched and learned about people’s connection with their animals, the more excited we are to have you on this journey with us. One thing we know for sure is that when you nurture the relationship you have with your pet, your life will never be the same.

Tails Pet Media Group, Inc. has been publishing local pet magazines for more than seven years. Our founder and editorial director, Janice Brown, started Chicagoland Tails with the passion and desire to make a difference for homeless animals. The success we had there made us realize that we could do the same for pets and their people everywhere. We have since launched magazines in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Indianapolis, St. Louis, Michigan, Cincinnati, Denver, San Antonio, Phoenix, the San Francisco Bay Area, and now New York.

In each issue you will find the latest in animal news, information on health and wellness, celebrity interviews, inspirational stories, local happenings in the pet community, cool products, great books, and much more. In addition, we are proud to provide important animal resources including shelters, breed-rescue groups, animal organizations, emergency information, pet loss hotlines, important contact numbers, and local pet-related events in every issue of the magazine. We are delighted to be a catalyst for animals finding loving and safe homes, and for putting out information that helps people with pets keep the animals they have, rather than giving them up to a shelter.

This is your community magazine, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas on what you’d like to see in the future.
