Pima Animal Care Center needs help finding homes for puppies

The Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in Tuscon is desperately seeking anyone who can help adopt out 20 plus pups immediately.

After an adult dog was found dead in a kennel due to Parvovirus, dogs within the same kennel had to be euthanized. Due to protocol, those within the same vicinity of the kennel have been given a 48-hour time frame to find a loving home. The 20-plus dogs will be euthanized if they don’t find a home by the deadline of May 7.

Other dogs for rescue who were nowhere near the kennel are available for rescue at half price. Temperament testing and transportation can be arranged, while CARES has offered to do blood work for free.

If you are interested in adopting, all dogs at home must be up to date on shots. Anyone looking for a new installment to the family should call PACC directly at (520) 243-5933.  —Elizabeth Piwowarski

Click for a good cause

TheAnimalRescueSite.com (ARS) is working to provide food for abandoned and neglected animals in need through an online fundraiser that’s as simple as a click of the mouse. Working in conjunction with corporate sponsors and national/local advertisers its "Fund Food For Animals" program supplies 6 bowls of food to the animals for every click on its homepage. Sponsors donate the food in exchange for advertising on the ARS website. In 2006 the site provided 33,528,399 bowls of food for the animals, a number that was slightly down compared with 2005. This year the organization hopes to go even further with the number of clicks. Its encouraging each visitor to tell ten friends about the site so that they in turn can each tell ten of their friends until the proram eventually surpasses its goal. For more information or to make the click visit www.TheAnimalRescueSite.com and click the "Fund Food For Animals" button. Clicking is free and only takes a second.
