Summer has gone by so quickly. Sage is doing well. His profile picture on Listia(a free website) is a big hit. I have ordered a coat and some toys for him. We have had Sage for nearly 9 months already.

It has been a long time since I posted anything. Sage is doing well, but doesn’t like the heat. The pool idea didn’t work too well since we found out he is not a water loving dog. We spray him with water on walks to keep him cool. It has been a pretty busy summer. Sage will be with us for 6 months on July 13.

We will be going out and getting Sage his first little pool for the hot weather. We can cool him off before and after his walks.

I recently won a cute Seahorse plush toy on Listia for Sage. It is a free site and a person earns free credits for auctions. It also has a social twist to it where a person can get fans. Many dog and cat lovers are on this site.

Here is the latest news on what Sage is? The DNA test revealed he is Shih Tzu, Poodle, and Lhasa Apso. The test is worth doing.

I finally broke down and ordered a DNA test for Sage. We have already sent in his DNA sample to the lab. The kit cost $59…many mail order places sell these and also Pets Mart has a brochure of a place.

I won some freebie items for Sage lately on Listia. He has a new leash (with little skeleton heads against black), a collar with multi-designs, and will be receiving a pretty leash with a sunflower design on it. Sage ran 6 blocks with us at the beginning of May. He loved every minute of his run. He graduated from doggie obedience class at the end of April and has a certificate. We are so proud of him. Today he came back from the groomer and got his summer trim and ”spa” treatment. This little rescue dog has been pretty busy lately.

I have found a free site called Listia where I can bid for free doggie and kitty things. A person earns free credits for joining. This is a good way to save money on pet supplies.

Sage had a big break through at his obedience class. He is not very trusting of other dogs….but approached a female pup in the class and rubbed noses with it for the first time. He is learning that not all dogs are out to get him, but want to be friends.

We found out that Sage’s girlfriend is named Athena. She lives across the alley from us and is a beautiful Lab/pitbull mix. Athena is so sweet and gentle. This is the first pup he has showed any interest in. She will be helpful in teaching Sage doggie social skills.

Sage did much better at his obedience class on Thursday. He practiced ”Come” and ”Leave It.” He showed more restraint when seeing other dogs and didn’t bark as much.
