Hey! My name is Skyler, and if you are looking for a jogging companion, you’ve come to the right place. I am an energetic 3-year-old Labrador/Border Collie mix who gets along with everyone I meet—including all of the dogs in my foster home. I love to run around and play tug-o-war, so a fenced-in yard and a playmate in my new home would be great. I am really good on my daily walks and enjoy being around my caretaker day and night. I just love to have fun!

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
Tom Cruise. He always seems to be running every time I see him. Maybe he’s chasing a squirrel?

What do you dream of at night?
A big yard and lots of friends. That would be perfect.

Beach or mountains?
I say we do both and then grab a nice long nap on the couch.

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
I am ready to be your best friend. I am a happy, sweet doggie with a lot of love to give!

Hi! My name is Levi and I am a 1-year-old handsome boy who loves to purr. People love my white and orange ears and tail—and I’ve heard many times that my deep golden eyes are beautiful to stare into. I may be part Turkish Van, but my hair is shorter than most. I love to be loved … and will give it right back to you! I am social, friendly, and affectionate and would be so happy to be your new favorite lap cat! You’ll never be lonely with me around.

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I would fund a research committee to tell me how I can catch that red dot once and for all. And then I’d buy a round of sushi for all my feline friends!

What do you dream of at night?
Hanging out with you, purring loudly, and falling asleep in your lap.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
How about the best cat you’ve ever had? That is my dream job!

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
I’m a great cat! Beauty, brains, and a gentle soul. What more can you ask for?

Hello! I see you’ve already met my awesome brother, Alex. My name is Glenda and I’m a beautiful 67-pound, 3-year-old girl. I am very sweet and social, and dream of a home with a big yard so I can work out my energy. I love to chase, but I can be trained to work well with cats. I know my obedience commands, and will give you doggie kisses in exchange for a doggie treat!

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
Nicole Kidman. She is so beautiful.

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
My brother is buying us all collars and treats, so I’d buy new beds and fun toys. Of course I will spend it on my new family, too!

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
I am very well behaved and a great canine companion.

Hamburger or hot dog?
I would love a burger, but I am grateful for whatever I get. You can’t go wrong.

I know my basic obedience commands, but I love to learn. Maybe you can teach me some cool tricks?

What is your favorite board game?
The best board game is whatever game I am playing with you!

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I would buy my siblings and myself some beautiful new collars and plenty of treats. And of course whatever my new family wanted.

What do you dream of at night?
Finding my forever home! And staying busy with an active family.

Beach or mountains?
I’ve got the energy to do both if you’ve got the time.

Hello there! My name is Rachel and I am a smart and active dog. I came to the shelter as a stray, but I am so grateful to have been rescued by the wonderful people here. As a Pointer, I’ve got a great nose and love to sniff around when we go on walks or hikes. I am up to date on my shots. I’ve been spayed, and everyone at the shelter says I am very well behaved.

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
Jennifer Aniston is beautiful, so she would be perfect. Plus, she has already played a very famous Rachel on Friends.

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I think I would find homes for all of my new friends here at Heart. They are all great and deserve loving homes. If you come to visit me and I’m already adopted, please look at some of the other lovable animals here.

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
I am a lot of fun and will get you out of the house. We all need some fresh air and exercise!

Beach or mountains?
Let’s go for a hike! Try and keep up.

I’m Denzel, a lovely, affectionate, and well-behaved little cat. I’m also litterbox trained and neutered.

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?

Hi, I’m Pippin. I’m a smart and sweet pooch who loves being with other dogs and my people. I’m so friendly I even get along with cats! I live with another dog right now. We are great buddies and wrestle and lay around together. I’m a puppy, so of course I love to play, but I’m pretty mellow overall. I take a lot of naps, and I’d love to take them with you, snoozing on the couch together. I have the most adorable ears, but don’t let their goofiness fool you—I am a smart and trainable pup. I’m potty-trained and will walk to the door to let you know when I need to go outside.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
Probably a short one with funny looking branches.

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
Tom Cruise because he is a shorty just like me—plus he seems to get hit by a lot of cars in his action movies, and he always bounces back.

What is your favorite board game
and why?
CLUE. I love to sniff and find new things.

What do you want to be when you
grow up?
The best dog you’ve ever had.

Pet Project RescueTwin Cities Adoptable Dog - February 2012
PetProjectRescue.com

Hi, I’m Osso. I am part of The Lukas Project—Pet Project Rescue’s end of life service for rescued dogs. The volunteers of Pet Project took me in so I can spend my days snoozing on the couch, snuggling with my people, or basking in the sunshine outside. I enjoy walking around the house and sniffing the birds here, and I always show off for guests that come by to visit. I have lots of fun playing with my toys and like being brushed.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
A tall and mighty oak. They’re old, but they’ve got strength as well.

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
I think Mr. George Clooney would do a wonderful job. He has that distinguished look like me.

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I would make sure that every animal like me had someone like my foster family to love them in their last days.

What do you dream of at night?
All of my dreams have already come true. But I’d love to come home and share them with you!

Hi there! My name is Farley, I am a 3-year-old lovable mixed breed pooch and I am new to B.A.R.K. Even though I like all of the people and dogs here (I even like the cats), I am ready to go home with you and be your best friend for life. With that in mind, I would love to come to a house that already has a dog or two because I really love to have a playmate around. If you’ve got kids that is great too because those little balls of energy can keep up with me. I’ve been told I’m a great dog because I am crate trained and I know my obedience commands. I would be the perfect addition to an already perfect home.

Who is your best friend?
Other than the wonderful people here at B.A.R.K? I’d have to say that the position is still open. I hope that my best friend will be a nice caring person with room in his or her heart for a cute little guy like me.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
The best dog that I can be. I want to run fast, jump high, chase tennis balls, and lick faces. I want to be a great friend to my new family.

What do you dream of at night?
Playing with my friends at the dog park. Going for car rides. Getting scraps from underneath the table. You know, the usual.

Hello, friends! My name is Otis and I am a happy, people oriented, bullyboy who needs a home that will keep me forever! Even if I decide to chase your cat or play too rough. I am eager to please but I have a stubborn streak and will test my boundaries if given a chance. I currently live in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and kid visitors. I do great with everyone but need to be reminded of the no-jump rules and I need to be corrected when I chase the cats, I just forget sometimes! I am housebroken and sleep in a crate at night. I love to snuggle and go for car rides!  I would like to go to a home with someone who has had previous experience with bully breeds. I will love you and be your best friend forever!

What do you dream of at night?
Usually all of the fun I am going to have tomorrow with my new forever friends.

Beach or mountains?
Let’s go to both of them. I love to be worn out by the end of the day.

Hamburger or hot dog?
Again, my vote goes for both.

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
Because I am sure that you are the right family for me. You are finding me at just the right time.
