Checkers. I love all of the pieces. They are fun to bat around, and make a great sound!

If you could be a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
I think a cherry tree would be perfect, since everyone would gather around to admire me, and I could offer yummy treats in return!

I am such an affectionate boy. I need an outlet to channel all of the love I have in my heart, just waiting for the perfect family!

Hi my name is Callie! I’m very sweet but I’m not used to being around people yet—so I’m working on it. I’m working on my house training, too. I’m a timid girl that needs some time to get used to new people and places. I would do best in a quieter and mellower home. I like to carry balls and squeaky toys around with me. Hi there! My name is Marcia and I am a 3–year-old sweet girl. When I was dropped off at the shelter, I had more than 700 ticks on me (300 in my ears alone). I am now tick free and healing nicely. Luckily, I did not get any blood borne diseases from the ticks. I have lived outside for most of my life and have not interacted too much with other dogs or humans. I am very shy, but I will come around with lots of love and patience. I tend to come out of my shell around other dogs, so I need to be in a house with another dog, so I can learn how to be social and live in a home.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
Actually, because I’ve been outside so much, I can pretty much name every tree in the book. I’ll tell you this, I am not like any tree. I am one of a kind and a survivor.

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
Grizzly Adams. I don’t think I have to explain that choice, huh?

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I would buy my new family a big house with a giant yard for me and my canine pals to run around and chase squirrels.

Hello! I’m Tommy a 10-year-old brown Tabby Cat. I’m a bit of a nervous cat and I can be very shy and timid at first. But I do enjoy affection. Once I relax around you, I will be rubbing up against your legs, talking to you, and asking for my head to be rubbed and my backside to be scratched.  I also love kitty treats—they make me brave. I would do best in a quiet family. Older children would be OK. I am ready for someone to spend time with.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
I would be a willow tree because I like to curl up underneath things.

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I would spend the money on catnip … lots and lots of catnip. Also, I’d love to help my friends here at the shelter. There are plenty of terrific animals in need of a forever home.
