Hey! My name is Mason and I am a 1-year-old Lab mix. I am as lovable as I am handsome. As you can tell, I am also very humble. I look like a pure black Lab with a touch of Husky, so I’ve got these adorable, fluffy ears. I will make a terrific family dog because I am friendly and loving. How can you say no to this face, huh?

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
A young one with a great deal of potential. I am probably finished growing, but I’ve still got some maturing to do. I know you can help me with that.

What is your favorite board game?
No board games for me, thank you very much. I’ve got too much energy and would be much happier with a trip to the dog park.

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
How about this, if you adopt me I can guarantee that you’ve already won the lottery!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Well, I’m already a good dog—so I’d like to be a GREAT dog.

Hello there! My name is Luther and I am a playful, curious kitten full of energy. I like to curl up while purring and take a nap to recharge my batteries so I can start playing again. I get along great with other kittens and I love people. I am really good at using my litter box—almost a professional at this point. I am very adorable, and I know that I will be a wonderful addition to any home.

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
Ryan Reynolds because he is SUPER cute, just like me.

What is your favorite board game?
Any game with moving parts would be fun—Oh, oh! How about MouseTrap!

If you won the lottery, what would you do?
Cash the check and sleep in a big pile of money. Isn’t that what you would do?

What do you dream of at night?
Probably winning the lottery now.

Who is your best friend?
I know who I want to be my best friend—YOU!

What is your favorite song?
Anything by Elton John.

My name is Paisley, and I am a 2-year-old Weimaraner. I am a huge cuddle bug and snuggler, and have millions of kisses to give away. While I love to lay around with you and watch movies, I also love to play, run, and go hiking. I would love an active family who enjoys taking me places and experiencing all the great things the world has to offer.

What is your favorite board game and why?
My favorite board game is Life. I like to think that things can change for the better at anytime based on the choices we make. I can see myself in one of those cars with a family experiencing all the twists and turns in life, as one happy family, always having each other to lean on.

What do you dream of at night?
I dream of sniffing out critters, getting belly rubs, being able to love my very own family. And that all dogs find their forever family soon!

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
I am the sweetest, gentlest, kindest girl around and will give them a lifetime of joy, happiness, and laughs!

My name is Tara and I’m a 9-month-old Boxer. Yes! A pure bred Boxer at an animal shelter. But around here nobody cares about my pedigree … they just love my joyful spirit!

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
I would be a weeping willow because once I am planted, my roots will reach deep into your heart! And I’m very flexible—I can touch my shoulder all the way to my butt!

What movie star would you want to portray you in a movie of your life?
As a strong beautiful female, the obvious actress choice would be Angelina Jolie. I am a dog of action!

What is your favorite board game?
If I had thumbs, I would kick your butt at Scrabble every day! I could also do your taxes. But I don’t, so your intellectual ego is safe.

Who is your best friend?
My best friend is Tamera, a wonderful girl. We like to play and play and play! She needs a home too, (hint, hint). With two dogs you don’t need cable for entertainment!

Pink or purple?
I’m definitely a pink girl, although it’s really more of a mauve I prefer.

Adopt Me— Mickey

Meet Mickey. He is a four-year-old, vaccinated, neutered brown Tabby mix.  He is a mix in other ways as well. He is a wonderful bundle of energy, loving to play and scamper about. Then he loves to plop down on a lap and purr away while he gets a loving tummy rub or a scratch behind his ears.  Mickey is on the hunt for adventure at all times but is also very well behaved.  He can be silly but always seems to have a mature swagger to him. One quality that is not a mix is Mickey’s pure joy. He is always upbeat and happy to be around people.

What is your favorite song?
Stray Cat Strut by the Stray Cats! I was found as a stray, and “I’ve got cat class and I’ve got cat style.”

If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
Maine. I’ve heard they have some of the best fish in America. I love my fish!

Who would play you in a blockbuster movie?
John Travolta! A slick, handsome, fun-loving guy!  He is also an affectionate, playful gentleman, much like myself.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I would be a catch for any family.  I’ve got tons of personality, lots of affection to give and am content with a relaxing afternoon or a fun-filled play session.

Adopt Me—Luna

Meet Luna! Luna is a beautiful young girl who was saved from a high-kill shelter. She has a stunning fawn and brown brindle coat. Luna is what we like to call a “Pocket Pittie” as she will not be more than 40 pounds. She is microchipped, spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Luna is such a happy little girl with a token Pit Bull “wiggle butt.” She lives in a foster home with kitties and four other Pitties and enjoys playing with all her playmates! Luna also loves kids and to give kisses. You might need a towel afterwards!  Luna is housebroken and crate-trained. She knows her basic commands of “sit” and “down” and is eager to learn more.

What is your favorite activity?
Oh, activity is the key word! I love to play with people or doggie playmates and walk and run and play some more. Then, of course, I want to flop on the couch and snuggle and give my famous kisses.

Who is in your perfect family?
Anyone loving, kind, active and affectionate. I would love some furry siblings or kids to play with and to take me on great exploring adventures.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I was so close to, well, I know how to appreciate the second chance I have been given! I am full to the brim with love and life, and wiggles and affectionate kisses. I am joyous as I face each new day.

Meet Milton Bradley, a handsome, neutered, vaccinated 1-year-old brown tabby.  He is a super sweet boy who went for a nice walk in the wonderful summer weather and lost his way.  Milton loves to play and explore, but more than anything, he enjoys snuggling and being held. He is looking for a family who will give him treats, rub his belly and cuddle with him on the couch while watching a good movie. He was born to be a best friend!

Who would be in your perfect family?
I would love a family who would give me lots of attention, Kitty siblings would be good, too!

What do people most admire about you?
I am very personable and charming and an all-around great guy. I am everyone’s best buddy.

Who would play you in the blockbuster movie?
I don’t get to many movies but love to watch tv. I have heard that my fun-loving, adorable, boy-next-door charm is much like Jim from the show “The Office.” And, he is almost as handsome as I am!

Why should you go home with a family today?
One of the best things about me is how well I get along with everyone, from people to kitties alike. I am so affectionate, I make everyone feel special. Now I would love to feel the same way.

Adopt Me — Billy Bob

Metro Animal Services “Animal House,” LouisvilleAdopt Me — Billy Bob

Billy Bob is a 1-year-old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped Plott Hound/Coonhound mix who is energetic, playful, and super dog-friendly. He came in as a stray in May and has become a staff favorite. Billy Bob would love an experienced, active family who plays fetch and will take him on lots of adventures! Because of his size and “puppy manners,” he would do best in a home without small dogs or children. Billy Bob is VERY smart and knows some commands—but he can be mouthy and likes to jump up to give hugs and kisses, because he can.

Where would you go on vacation?
Slugger Field. I love to play ball and it would be awesome to see everyone enjoying my favorite game!

What is your favorite activity?
Fetch in the yard, then I pile the balls in my bed. I can even bounce a ball and catch it myself!

Who is your perfect family?
I like action and adventure, so a family on the go (who will take me with them, of course). I am eager to learn, so someone patient to teach me how to be the best companion for your family.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I’m so cute and smart and ready to learn and love and have a ton of fun.

Adopt Me – Tessie

Shelby County Humane SocietyTessie

Say hello to Tessie! She is about 5-weeks-old and is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Poor Tessie was found sitting by her dead mother on the side of the road. She is a very affectionate and sweet little girl. Tessie loves to play and sit in the sun and get lots of tummy rubs.

Who is in your perfect family?
A family who plays with me, lets me sleep in sunbeams, gives me canned food treats from time to time, and likes to cuddle. No more outside for me!

If you were not a kitty, what would you be?
A giraffe! How fun to graze, see the world from a different perspective, and be gentle and kind to other animals in the beautiful grasslands.
What is one thing no one knows about cats?
If someone looks into the eyes of a kitty and we slowly close and open them again, it is the universal sign of a kitty kiss.

Why should you go home with a family today?
With such a harsh beginning, I want to feel the warm love of a great family to give my story a happy ending.

Adopt Me – Gracie

Franklin County Humane Society, FrankfortGracie

FCHSKY.org

Gracie is about 5-years-old, spayed, vaccinated, and currently living with a foster family. She came to the shelter with a severely injured eye and ever since it was removed, she has been just great. Gracie is darling. She’s friendly, loyal, and a buddy to cats, dogs, kids, and, well, everyone she meets! Although shy at first, she loves everyone like they are a best friend.

What is your favorite activity?
I love to play with my foster brother, a Pit Bull named Isaac. I also like to road trip in the car, swim with my life-vest on, ride on boats, play in the yard, lay in the sun … I’m up for anything!

Who would play you in the blockbuster movie?
Jennifer Aniston because she is funny, full of life, looking for love, and almost as beautiful as I am.

Describe your perfect family:
Parents, perhaps with kids or a furry brother or sister, really anyone who will love me, keep me healthy and safe, and play with me.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I just need a chance to show someone how much fun I am and how much I can love them and bring them joy.
