Hi, my name is Chloe and I am 6-years-old. I am housetrained, walk well on a lead, and I love older kids. I’d like to be the only dog in the house, or live with a small, male dog that doesn’t want to boss me around! I love to play and snuggle, too.

Pink or purple?
Pink, because it looks wonderful on me.

Beach or mountains?
Mountains, because I love to go on walks.

Hamburger or hot dog?
Hamburger. “Where’s the beef?”

Who is your best friend?
My best friend is Mugsy. He is a small male dog, and I like him. But, I am kind of particular, so I am not as sure about some of the other dogs.

What do you dream of at night?
I dream about finding my forever home.
I wonder what my new family and home will be like.

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
I have waited a long time for my new family.
I am a good girl. And, I have lots to give!

Hi! We are twin sisters, Terra and Taylor. We are always together like two peas in a pod. We love to play, chase, romp and roll in a fenced backyard—it’s the most fun we can have. After a long day of fun and a nice supper, we like to cuddle up together and dream of the fun we’ll have tomorrow.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?
We would love to be soft maple trees where squirrels like to play and chase each other—we LOVE squirrels!!!

What do you dream of at night?
We even dream the same dreams—running on grassy fields in the warm sunshine with our family laughing at us.

Who is your best friend?
My best friend is my twin sister and I love her very much.

What is your favorite song and why?
“Somewhere Over The Rainbow” because it is a song of hope. We hope to have a family and be loved together for a long time to come.

Tippy is a 5-month-old, neutered, vaccinated little kitty who was given up when his owner moved and was unable to take him. Tippy is so fun, silly, quirky and energetic—sure to keep any owner laughing and entertained with his kitty antics!

What do others most admire about you?
I am quite the jokester and will go out of my way to keep you smiling and laughing.

What kind of flower would you be?
A snapdragon because I am beautiful, unique, memorable and sassy.

What is your favorite activity?
I love to roll around and wrestle with other kitties or play with toys and then flop on a lap for a good cuddle. Although I am a bundle of energy, I am also a bundle of sweetness and love. I enjoy being around people and love to be in the action. My best quality is my ability to be a best friend.

Why should you go home with a family today?
Besides being such a cutie, I am loads of fun and love adventure. My sweet disposition and sparkling personality will add such joy to any family. I long for the chance to shine and show how much love I have to give.

Meet Maggie Moo. She is a 3-year-old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, house-trained, Australian Shepherd/Border Collie who just needs someone to take the time to get to know her. She came to the shelter pregnant and had 12 puppies just days later! They are all adopted and in happy homes. Although slightly over-exuberant at first, Maggie Moo really blossoms given time and loves playing Frisbee and getting belly rubs. Quite the prankster, she enjoys playing hide-and-seek or taking the ball from her friends and making them chase her. It takes a while for Maggie to reveal her true personality, but once she does, she’s the most loyal companion anyone could imagine!

What do others most admire about you?
Not to brag, but I’ve been told I am beautiful, sweet and have a sparkling personality.

Who would be in your perfect family?
An active family with older kids who will walk and play with me, and take me on all their family adventures. I would be great at agility!

What kind of flower would you be?
A sunflower—larger than life at first impression and I follow the sun….and the sun!

Why should you go home with a family today?
I’m overlooked at adoption events because I don’t display my true personality. I’m so eager to find a family that I get too excited. I’ve been in foster care and have shown how loving and sweet I am when someone takes the time to get to know me!

Adopt Me — Beyonce

Bloomington Animal Shelter, BloomingtonAdopt Me — Beyonce

Beyonce is a 4-year-old, spayed, and vaccinated Tortoise. She tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV. Beyonce was given to the shelter because her previous family had to move.  Beyonce loves two things: people and toys. She will climb up in your lap, purr, and give kisses, and she will play with any toy you give her. Beyonce lives up to her namesake—she is fun and fabulous!

Who would play you in a blockbuster movie?
My name says it all. Only someone with a personality like hers could live up to a personality like mine! Like Beyonce, I am very beautiful, talented, and I love attention.

What is your favorite song?
“All the Single Ladies.” I hope someone “puts a collar on it” to make me a permanent part of their family,  and soon!

What is your favorite activity?
I love to play with toys! I like feather wands, and balls, and toy mice, and, well, you get the idea.  If you have a toy, I will play with it, and it’s even more fun if you will play with me. I might even play fetch!

Why should you go home with a family today?
I should go home with a family today so that they don’t go another moment without all the love I have to give!

Lexi is a beautiful, playful, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped Shepherd/Greyhound mix. She is very loving and loves to play ball, go swimming, run, or just be lazy with you on a Sunday afternoon. Lexi was adopted but returned after the owners stopped feeding her and she was 25 lbs. underweight. She is back to her normal weight and looking for a loving, caring home.

Who is your perfect family?
I love kids and love to play and be silly. I will play with other dogs, but only for a while. I can get jealous, as I want you all to myself. I love to be active and consider myself very athletic and smart, love to learn new things!

What’s your favorite activity?
Anything active—and, if you add in a squeaky toy, OH BOY!

What’s your most admirable quality?
My playful nature, good looks, sweet disposition, and my ability to adapt and remain upbeat.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I lived on a chain outside with no food and little water, but I am not bitter. I survived because I know there is love in the world, and someone who wants to share it with me is out there!

Help the Humane Society of Putnam County Find Homes for Animals

September 14, 2011 in Indianapolis, Indianapolis Adoptables by Jillian at Tails

The Humane Society of Putnam County in Indiana is closing their doors on September 30, 2011 and they will not be reopening. Their website states that all animals are to be placed by the 30th or euthanized.

Wishtv.com reported that they are five dogs and 26 cats living on limited time.

Financial limitations and decreased donations have led the shelter to his painful decision.

The shelter phone has been ringing with people interested in adopting one of the last remaining animals. Over the weekend the shelter found homes for 25 dogs and 25 cats. Staff members just don’t know if the phone will ring enough to save the rest.

Between now and the end of September the shelter will be open Tuesday and Saturday from noon to 5 PM. Financial donations are still desperately needed to cover the costs through the end of the month.

If you are interested in adopting a pet or helping out financially call 765.653.5739.

Say hello to Sam. He is a 2-year-old neutered, vaccinated, microchipped beautiful boy. Sam has been in the shelter since he was a kitten and cannot wait to meet his new forever family. As you can see, he is quite pretty and he knows it! Sam doesn’t miss an opportunity to pose for pictures, and he considers himself quite the man about town.

Who would be in your forever family?
Being raised in a shelter, I am used to people and other kitties, but I am not used to children or dogs. I want to be your bestest buddy all by myself.

What is your favorite activity?
I love to chase and carry around milk rings! It should be an Olympic sport; I would win the Gold!

Who would play you in a blockbuster movie?
If George Clooney was a bit younger, he might be able to pull it off. He is suave, debonair, and handsome and has some smooth moves.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I have been waiting a long time for a family who needs the love of a very sweet kitty like me!

Why should you go home with a family today?
Because I am so friendly, I run up to anyone as if they are a long-lost friend. Once upon a time, I had a family and I hope I am one step closer to finding that again.
