Hey there, friends! My name is Bailey and I am a loving 6-month-old Husky mix looking for a new home. It shouldn’t be that tough considering how cute I am. Seriously, look at those ears—don’t you just want to eat them? I’m very friendly with other dogs and I love to be around kids. I want a home with people who are ready and willing to get out there and be active.  I hope that person is you!

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
Maybe one that you can build a house in because I plan to build a home in your heart.

Who is your best friend?
If you take me home, it’s going to be you—I promise that.

What do you dream of at night?
Playing. That’s why you’ll always see my paws twitching and my eyes moving.  It gets a laugh here.

Beach or mountains?
Anywhere that we can have fun. As long as I’m with you, I’ll be happy.

Say hello to Riley and his long-haired brother, Paddy. They are two very sweet 5-month-old brothers!  Both kittens are neutered, mircro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccines.  These bonded boys are looking to entertain a family together and that is precisely what they will do! They spend their time grooming each other, walking in sync while intertwining their tails, and are always looking for one another.

What do others admire most
about you?
I am an enthusiastic hunter, and play a great game of ping pong ball soccer. Paddy is sooo affectionate but he usually wins our wrestling games.

Who would play you in a blockbuster movie?
The Jonas Brothers because we are so bonded, sweet and adorable, and the ladies just love us!

What is your favorite activity?
We both love to wrestle, play with toys (although Riley is the better soccer player by far), and snuggle each other on a nice warm lap.

Why should you go home
with a family today?
Because of our bond, we really know how to be loyal, loving, fun, and playful. We would have great fun and bring great joy to any family.

Meet Astro, a Super Dog! Astro is sweet and strong, and is able to leap to tall heights in a single bound.  He is a 2-year-old, vaccinated, neutered American Staffordshire mix. Astro is very smart and loyal and loves to learn. He came to the shelter as a stray but is eager to be part of a family, learn lots of new tricks and go on new adventures!

What is your very favorite activity?
I love tennis, but since I do not have opposable thumbs to grip a racket, I will settle for playing with tennis balls. Rope toys fascinate me and I love to play with them alone or tug on them with a friend. Fetch is never boring, as I am sure you know.

Who is in your perfect family?
I enjoy my active lifestyle, so older kids and maybe a big doggie sister or brother. I love everyone, but, let’s face it, I’d be a bit too much for a cat.

Who is your best friend?
That would be Luke, but he got adopted. I am happy for him but waiting for new friends and family.

Why should you go home
with a family today?
Everyone seems to love me when they meet me, as I am smart, eager to please and to learn. I just need to find that special someone who sees the amazing qualities I have to offer.

Rosie is a 3-year-old, vaccinated, healthy kitty who always looks dressed up. She was found hiding under someone’s porch last winter. She was abandoned and already spayed. After being abandoned, cold, and scared, she was shy at first. But Rosie has been in foster care and has since adjusted. Once she trusted her family, they discovered a real sweetie. Now Rosie can’t get enough attention. She’s even become a lap cat!

Who is in your purrfect family?
I am learning to trust again and would want all your attention, so I would like to be your only furry companion. Someplace warm, safe, and quiet with understanding and kindhearted people.

Who would play you in a blockbuster movie?
Ashley Judd because she is beautiful, refined, and a real “Steel Magnolia.”

What is your favorite activity?
I had a lot more activity than I wanted when I was abandoned and on my own. I just want to sit with you and get lovies and ear rubs while we watch HGTV.

Why should you go home with a family today?
I lived on my own and it does not suit me. I realized how much I want to give and get love and affection.

Adopt Me — Precious

Meet Precious. She is a spayed 1 ½-year-old white-and-gold American Staffordshire mix who is up to date on all shots. Precious is a very sweet girl with tons of playful energy. She just wants to give you kisses and spend time with you. She is strong on a leash but, with positive training, will be a wonderful family addition. Precious needs a family who wants to take her out, spend time with her, and play with her, and who are, of course, OK with kisses.

What do others most admire about you?
Besides my good looks, athleticism, and sparkling personality, I am very loyal and very affectionate.

Who is your perfect family?
I need a family who likes to go and do things. I am very active and fit in with that lifestyle.

What is the one thing about dogs no one seems to know?
As with people, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Each individual dog has its own personality and abilities.

Why should you go home with a family today?
Because of my breed, statistics show that it is more difficult to find a family who is willing to find out how wonderful I really am. I want someone to come meet me and see just how loving and friendly I am.

Heidi Cat
Heidi is a 2-year-old spayed and vaccinated female. She lived in a nice home with a loving family who had to give her up. Heidi is sweet and petite and everyone loves her, including the other kitties at the shelter. She was so timid at first, hiding under the cat tree until she learned to make all kinds of human and furry friends.

Who is your best friend?
I have a bestest kitty friend here at the shelter who was just as shy as I used to be and is now just as sweet. We are best furry buddies, but I also have a human friend who comes every day and lets me sit on her lap while she brushes me and plays with me. Overall, though, my motto is, “I love everyone and everyone loves me!”

Who would play you in a blockbuster movie?
Easy. Meg Ryan. She is cute, sweet, and petite, as well as being everyone’s sweetheart.

Why should you go home with a family today?
Besides being loving and friendly, I have learned to adapt to new situations and would love to adapt to a nice new forever home.

Charity is a beautiful 7-year-old spayed and vaccinated yellow Lab mix. She was extremely devoted to her previous family, so she takes a while to warm to people and other dogs. Once she does, however, she is extremely loyal, loving, and committed, and she will be for the rest of her life. She has been in the shelter for a while because she needs someone to take the time to gain her trust.

What do others admire most about you?
I have been told how pretty I am, but I would say it’s my sincere devotion to the ones I love.

Who would be in your perfect family?
I like older teens and adults because they are quieter and easier for me to get to know and understand.  Little ones are a bit loud and unpredictable for me.

What is your favorite activity?
I love car rides because it means I am on the way to the beach, hiking, or some other great adventure!

Why should you go home with a family today?
I am a very dedicated, loyal, affectionate, playful, and loving companion. It is worth taking the time to get to know me.

Hi! I’m Starr, a super friendly girl who’s laid back and ready for a new home. I’m not sure of my “blend” but I’m told I have the temperament of a Brittany Spaniel mixed with a laid-back Lab. I’m just happy to be around you, happy to go for a walk, take a nap, whatever presents itself in a day. I am house-trained, crate-trained and I’m fine with other dogs. I’m also spayed, up-to-date with my vaccinations, and micro-chipped. I will make a wonderful family dog!

What’s your favorite song?
My Girl, by the Temptations.

Are you a tree or a flower? Which kind?
I am an Oak. Solid and loyal, that’s me!

Why should you go home with a family today?
I deserve a shot to make someone happy, and to have someone care for me. I am a wonderful adult dog who has a big heart and wants love to share it with the right family.

Hey there, I’m Digga. I am an older adult male cat, but I’ve still got lots of spunk and I love to play. I’d be a great buddy for someone who is willing to spend the time to get to know me. I am neutered, house-trained, and up-to-date with my shots.

What is your favorite movie?
Major League. It’s a dude’s movie!

Who is your best friend?
My brother Ranger is my best buddy so far. But, I’m open to adding to the list!

Why should you go home with a family today?
I am a great companion who will make someone happy. I love to cuddle and have a good pet, and am looking for someone who will tell me all about their day so I can tell them all about mine. That’s what friendship is about, right?

Adopt Me – Banjo

June 27, 2011 in Boston Adoptables, July 2011 by Tails Magazine

Adopt Me - BanjoMetroWest Humane
Society, Inc

MetroWestHumaneSociety.org

Say hello to Banjo, a darling girl who came to the shelter after being rescued from an outdoor colony of cats. Banjo had not had positive experiences with people, so naturally she was fearful. In 2008 we started a Socialization Program, whereby volunteers work one on one with shy and fearful cats to help them overcome their fears. Banjo is the first graduate of our Socialization Program and we are very proud of her success. She is gentle and sweet, adores being brushed, and loves to play with catnip toys. She also gets along well with other cats. Banjo has worked hard to overcome her fears and is ready for a home of her own….

Who would be in your perfect family?

Since I was a shy and fearful girl when I first came to the shelter, I prefer one on one affection. A home with dogs or children may not be best suited for a cat like me who loves the limelight.

Why should you go home with a
family today?

I am ready to spend my days loving someone and being loved. Although I love being around the other cats in the shelter, I want to start a new adventure in my forever home.
