Homemade garden stones are a fabulous way for you to personalize your garden and get the whole family, four-legged friends and all, involved in a project. If you don’t have a garden, this can be used anywhere as decoration, and makes a perfect gift for friends or family.
This is a simple do it yourself that anyone can follow. From paw prints to kid’s hand or footprints, this is a great way to make a special memory.
1. Mix the concrete according to the instructions on the bag. The end result should be thick like oatmeal. Add the water a little bit at a time so you don’t make the mix too thin. If it comes out too thick, sprinkle with additional water to loosen.
2.Spread the plastic garbage bag on the ground and place the concrete forming ring on top of it.
3. Pour your concrete inside the ring. Let it set for fifteen minutes.
4.Now it’s time to decorate. Gently press your pet’s paws (or children’s hands or feet) into the concrete. If you’d like to add decorative gems or other waterproof items, throw on your rubber gloves, get creative, and have fun! (Make sure to wash paws and hands right after pressing! Hardened concrete hurts when trying to be removed from fur.)
5. Allow the stone to set for 48 hours before moving outside. To release, use a knife to cut the cardboard ring.
