Amazon recently released new data that reveals which states have the most spoiled pets. The results were determined by looking at per capita sales of pet-related items––everything from cat toys to bird food––for cities with over 400,000 residents. Did your city make the list?
|1. Miami||11. Sacramento, Calif.|
|2. Seattle||12. Raleigh, N.C.|
|3. Atlanta||13. Denver|
|4. San Francisco||14. Colorado Springs, Colo.|
|5. Portland, Ore.||15. Baltimore|
|6. Washington, D.C.||16. San Jose, Calif.|
|7. Las Vegas||17. Albuquerque, N.M.|
|8. Austin, Texas||18. Chicago|
|9. Tucson, Ariz.||19. Omaha, Neb.|
|10. San Diego||20. Virginia Beach, Va.|
Here are some other interesting facts about the researches found:
– The residents of Miami know how to pamper their pets: the city ranked highest for pampering their dogs, cats, birds, aquatic animals and reptiles. Miami locals also purchased the most toys overall for their pets, and spoiled their dogs and cats by buying the most apparel and accessories, grooming products and health supplies.
– While the city ranked second overall, Seattle locals love to give their animals treats. This locale topped the list for purchasing the most treats for dogs, cats, birds and other small animals.
– The residents of San Jose, Calif., followed by Colorado Springs, Colo., Long Beach, Calif., Nashville, Tenn., and Omaha, Neb., showed the most love for their horse friends by purchasing the largest number of horse-related products.
