Note From the Founder – June/July 2013

By Janice Brown

Just a few weeks ago, my family said our final goodbyes to our beloved dog Luna. She was my husband’s and my first baby, and my inspiration for creating TAILS.

At 14 years old, I feel good knowing she lived a long, full, happy life. But letting go is never easy, and no matter how much you “prepare” for it, the profound hurt and sadness is beyond words.

Inspired by our photo contest, coupled with knowing that I could never adequately verbalize the impact Luna has had on me, my career, my family, and those she met, I am honoring her beautiful spirit with the following images.

Her peaceful and joyful soul shines brightly.

Don’t take one moment with those you love for granted.

Go hug your pet right now—

She is a beautiful baby and she is now your angel still
watching over you always. Yes it is profound hurt that
never goes away but the love never dies. Put her on
rainbow bridge.org and write to her its comforting.
Remember Heaven has a doggie door they will come to

It looks like Luna was loved and pampered and yes, it is always hard. She’ll be with you always though even though she is not here.
