Adopt Me Tommy Deaf Pit Bull NYCNew York

Red Hook Dog Rescue

Hello! My name is Tommy, and I am a deaf Pit Bull. I rarely bark, and am much more oriented to touch and smell so I am a big cuddler and kisser. I am really sensitive to facial expressions and moods, I wag my tail to a smile, and can read a stern face as a no. I am kind and gentle with all people (including children). I have shown some aggression towards other dogs in the past, but I’ve been working hard to learn and I’m making a lot of progress. I still can’t live with other animals, but if you keep working with me maybe someday I can. I’m fixed, have all my shots, am house- and crate-trained, and am trained with a muzzle. I even know sign language for basic commands (sit, stay, and directions while walking). And it’s all really easy to learn! I’m a sweet dog, and anyone would be lucky to have me (if I do say so myself!). If you are even interested, you should meet me and I promise you’ll fall in love.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?
I think it would be very confusing to be a tree. I have no idea what I would pee on.

Why should YOU go home with a family right now?
Because I am such a loving companion. I always want to cuddle and kiss and take care of my people.

If you could nap anywhere, where would it be?
My favorite place to nap is on one of my beds when the sun is shining on it—no matter how hot it is I love to be in the sun!

Sugar and spice and everything nice, that’s what I’m made of!
