Hello! My name is Garnet, and I am a 6-year-old Lhasa Apso recently rescued from a puppy mill. I have made so much progress from the scared little pup I was when I arrived, and with a patient home I will continue to blossom every day. I get along well with other dogs and I am currently learning how to play. I will make a loving companion to anyone with the time and patience to teach me how wonderful life and humans can be, and I am looking forward to finding my forever home!

What is your favorite song and why?
Michael Buble’s “Just Haven’t Met You Yet.”  These lyrics say it all:  “I might have to wait/I’ll never give up/I guess it’s half timing/and the other half’s luck/Wherever you are/whenever it’s right/you’ll come out of nowhere and into my life.”

Who is your best friend?
I know they are out there; I just haven’t met them yet.

If you could invite anyone to lunch, who would it be?
Nelson Mandela so we could trade stories about how we survived our endless years of imprisonment all while remaining optimistic we would survive. Mr. Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, while in dog years I was in the puppy mills for 42.
