What We’re Reading: The Good Treats Cookbook for Dogs

From vogue-like pet fashions to animal-fitted Snuggies, the world our furry friends are now living in is much more glamorous and human-like than in the past. With that said, it’s no surprise that Barbara Burg’s book, The Good Treats Cookbook for Dogs, focuses on how to successfully construct a fashionable, tasty party…for dogs.

If you’re itching to throw a pup bash for a furry friend’s birthday, this book should be your go-to. Burg introduces a step-by-step process so the pawty is not only flawless, but also filled with very happy four-legged guests.

Besides finding a pet friendly location, Burg mentions that the guest list and party theme are also details to keep in mind, among other elements. Like any human party, the key is to keep the excitement and interest flowing. To style a creative yet entertaining party, Burg recommends a few of her favorite themes, which range from a Hollywood “Bling Bling” & Black Tie Affair theme to a Groovy 1970’s Party.

Besides arranging the “behind the scenes” details for the event, you can’t forget the most important part of any pet bash–the food. Burg’s book features doggie recipes that include hors d’oeuvres, main dishes, delectable treats and finally chilled tarts or beverages.

If planning a pup extravaganza with homemade goodies for your furry pal sparks an interest, consider picking up a copy of The Good Treats Cookbook for Dogs, your dog (and all his friends) will be happy you did!
