Diamond Pet Foods is recalling their Diamond Puppy Formula dry dog food following concerns
over possible Salmonella contamination.
This is the third type of dry dog food the company has had to pull off the shelves recently—in
April they recalled both their Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula and their
Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice.
According to the press release issued by the FDA, the most recently recalled product was
distributed to customers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North
Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Fortunately, no canine illnesses have been reported.
All three Diamond Pet Foods recalled dog foods were made in the same South Carolina plant.
Operations were suspended as of April 8. The plant was in the news back in 2005 after it was
found to be producing mold-contaminated food that resulted in the deaths of dozens of dogs
