L.A. Foundation Hosts Red Carpet Event April 14 at Mr. C Beverly Hills
Los Angeles, CA – (April 10, 2012) – Found Animals Foundation, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit group dedicated to reducing the euthanasia of pets in shelters, will publicly honor four local leaders for their roles in the animal welfare community on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Found Animals will host a celebratory dinner for the event, hosted by comedian Jodi Miller, who has appeared on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno, Chelsea Lately and other national outlets. Honorees include Bob Moran, President of PetSmart; Susana Della Maddalena, Executive Director of PetSmart Charities; Los Angeles City Council Member Tony Cardenas, and Lu Parker, KTLA journalist and founder of the Lu Parker Project.
The red carpet event prior to the awards gala will be held from 7-8 p.m. at Mr. C Beverly Hills, 1224 Beverwil Drive in Los Angeles.
“We are thrilled to give the spotlight to these four honorees for all the work they’ve done in the animal welfare community,” said Aimee Gilbreath, Executive Director of Found Animals. “It’s exciting to see so many people in support of programs and initiatives designed to help the pets and people of Los Angeles.”
PetSmart President Bob Moran and PetSmart Charities Executive Director Susana Della Maddalena will be present to accept their award. PetSmart Charities has given more than $6 million to support spay neuter in Los Angeles, generating 55,000 – 60,000 surgeries per year that would not have been possible without their donation.
Others expected to attend include Dr. Gary Michelson (Found Animals Foundation), Edie McClurg (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Adrienne Wilkinson (Xena), Hector Elizondo (The Princess Diaries), Anne Ramsey (League of their Own), Lisa Vanderpump (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) and her dog Jiggy, Robert Kovacik (NBC Los Angeles) and Jackson Galaxy (My Cat from Hell), Jessica Carrillo (Telemundo), Alejandro Navarro (Telemundo) and Lu Parker (KTLA).
