Dog Food Recalled for Possible Salmonella Contamination

Diamond Pet Foods is recalling its Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal and Rice dog food for potential contamination with salmonella. No illnesses have been reported yet and no other Diamond manufactured products have reportedly been affected.

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Salmonella poisoning rarely causes serious illnesses, but it can result in arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis and other conditions.

The recalled product was distributed to customers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.
