New Year’s Resolutions for You and Your Pet

January 4, 2012 by Tails Magazine in Lifestyle with 0 Comments

Making a resolution for the New Year is easy—the hard part is staying true to that resolution. However, when that resolution will benefit someone you love and requires only your commitment and dedication, maybe you will have a better chance at success.

We all love our pets. There are varying degrees of that love (seeing as how most caretakers believe no one else loves their pet as much as I love mine!) but we know everyone reading this loves their pets. So, what better motivator is there to follow through on a New Year’s resolution, or six…

  1. I will keep my dog—and myself—healthy by going for a walk every day.
  2. I will keep my cat mentally and physically healthy by devoting at least 20 minutes a day to playtime.
  3. I will NOT procrastinate or miss veterinary exams and visits needed by my pet.
  4. I will be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves and will report animal neglect and abuse when I see it.
  5. I will fight pet overpopulation by encouraging friends, family, and neighbors to have their pets spayed or neutered.
  6. I will give the gift of compassion by volunteering at a local shelter and/or by making a financial donation to help pets in need.

Take these resolutions to heart as you work the entire year to improve the life of your furry friend while improving your life as well. There are few things in life that feel as good as accomplishing a goal you set yourself and doing good for others in the process.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ALL OF US HERE AT TAILS!
