Pig Ears for Pet Treats Recalled Over Salmonella Risk

Pig Ears for Pet Treats are being recalled by the Keys Manufacturing Co. because they could be contaminated with salmonella, the Associated Press reported.

The pet chews were linked to at least one illness in a Missouri dog.

Salmonella can cause a reaction in animals as well as humans. Signs of the illness in pets can include diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting and appearing lethargic.

The treats were distributed in Virginia, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
